限定用法の形容詞を修飾する時はtheをつけるが、その他の場合ではtheを略すことが多い。
He is the least skillful carpenter here. 彼はここでは一番下手な大工だ。
= He is the most unskillful carpenter here.
This is the least difficult question of all. これは全ての中で一番難しくない質問だ。
= This is the easiest question of all.
I don’t have the least idea what you are talking about. あなたが話していることが全く分からない。

at last ついに：All the debt has been paid at last. すべての借金が支払われた。
at (the) most多くとも：His salary is at most 500,000 yen per month. 彼の給料はせいぜい月５０万円だ。
at (the) bestせいぜい at one’s best 最も良い状態で
He is a second-rate writer at best. 彼は良くみてもせいぜい二流の作家だ。
The cherry blossoms are at their best now. 桜の花は見ごろです。
at (the) worst 悪くとも at one’s worst 最も悪い状態で

make the best of ...「…（不十分なものであるが）…最大限に利用する」
You must make the most of your opportunities. チャンスは最大限に利用しなければならない。
He made the best of a short vacation. 彼は短い休暇を最大限に活用した。
9.2.3 get the best of 「～を負かす」
He got the best of his argument with John. 彼はジョンを討論で負かした。
9.2.4 not the slightest(faintest) 「少しの～もない」
There is not the slightest bit of truth in what he says. 彼の言うことには真実のかけらもない。
9.2.5 for the most part 「主として、たいてい、通例」
The villagers live on rice for the most part. その村の人々は一般に米を主食としている。

I have never seen her before to the best of my knowledge.

She is the last person for you to depend on.
=She is the last person that you can depend on. 彼女は君が最もあてにできない人だ。
